Thom Waye - Managing Partner
Prior to forming Sigma, Mr. Waye was a Partner and Managing Director at ComVest Venture Partners, L.P. In that capacity, Mr. Waye was primarily responsible for originating and structuring the fund's Micro Cap, operating company investments. Before joining ComVest, Mr. Waye was with AIG Capital Partners, a $10+ billion private equity group, responsible for fundraising and fund development. In addition, Mr. Waye previously led Motorola's and Unisys' New York based Financial Services sales and marketing efforts. He holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Management Information Systems and Marketing from Syracuse University.

 

David Vynerib - Managing Partner

Prior to joining Sigma, Mr. Vynerib was a Managing Director of Kidron Capital Advisors, a Senior Vice President at Axiom Capital Management and an Associate Vice President at Oppenheimer. In these positions, Mr. Vynerib was responsible for deal sourcing, capital raising activities and asset management.  Previously, Mr. Vynerib was one of the original three founders of Citi Habitats America Corp., one of the largest rental real estate brokerage firm in New York City, where he spent five years before the company was sold to the Cendant Corporation (NYSE:CO) in 2004. Mr. Vynerib is CIMA-certified and holds a BS in Finance from The George Washington University.

 

Maydan Rothblum - Managing Director
Prior to joining Sigma, Mr. Rothblum held Associate level positions at Apax Partners, Zacks Investment Research, and Booz, Allen & Hamilton where he gained experience in private equity investing, equity research and business consulting, both nationally and internationally. Mr. Rothblum had earlier experience at Sunrise Projects, managing private placement engagements for Israeli high tech companies. In addition, he served as an Engineer in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). Mr. Rothblum holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from Columbia Business School and a BS in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

 

Amit Avnet - Managing Director

Prior to joining Sigma, Mr. Avnet was a Senior Portfolio Manager at a NY based hedge fund, where he managed over $150 million of invested capital. Previously, Mr. Avnet was a Principal with SCP Private Equity Partners, a $1 billion private equity fund. Mr. Avnet had earlier experience with the Tower Hill Capital Group, a publicly traded technology merchant banking and consulting firm, and with the Ofer Brothers Group, one of Israel's largest privately held corporations. In addition, he served as a Budget Staff Officer in the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Mr. Avnet holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Tel-Aviv University's Recanati Graduate School of Business Administration, and a BA in Economics and Management from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.  

 

Ernesto Padron - Analyst

Prior to Sigma, Mr. Padron spent two years as an investment banking analyst in the Technology, Media and Telecom group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In this role, he focused on capital raising and strategic advisory engagements. He has a BS in Finance from University of Florida's Warrington College of Business. 

 

Alan Shum - Analyst
Prior to joining Sigma, Mr. Shum interned at Feldman Weinstein LLP, where he interned in the firm's reverse merger practice. He also worked at NYPR and The Horn Group, where he conducted media outreach, sourced media opportunities and coordinated public relations events. Mr. Shum has a BS in Finance and Marketing from NYU's Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

 

Diane Lam - Analyst

Prior to joining Sigma, Ms. Lam was an Analyst at Kidron Capital Advisors, where she focused on the firm's broker-dealer activities.  Previously, Ms. Lam held Analyst positions at Axiom Capital Management, Inc and Thompson Financial.  Ms. Lam holds a BS in Finance and International Business from Fordham University's College of Business Administration.

 

Gary Marks - CFO
Mr. Marks is a Partner at Rubenstein Shenker Zacarese & Marks LLP, a Ne
w York-based certified public accounting firm. He has been a certified public accountant for 25 years and a Partner at various CPA firms for the past 12 years. Prior to public practice, Mr. Marks held management positions with "The Body Shop" retail chain and served as CFO of "The Female Athlete", a web-based retail forum. Mr. Marks specializes in individual taxation and small business accounting. He is the treasurer of the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce and past treasurer of the Garden City Jewish Center. Mr. Marks holds a BS in accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs.

 

Angela Sun - Financial Controller/Office Manager
Prior to joining Sigma, Ms. Sun was a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York, where she was involved in international tax consulting and tax compliance for the Alternative Investments sector. Before PwC NY, Ms. Sun held Senior Associate positions at PwC HK and PwC Sydney, Australia, where she provided tax accounting and advisory services for small medium enterprises and high net worth individuals. Her experience spans across a number of industries and jurisdictions including Asia Pacific, Europe and the U.S. Ms. Sun holds a BComm in Accounting and Business Law from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
