Thom Waye - Managing Partner
Prior to forming Sigma, Mr. Waye was a Partner and Managing Director at ComVest Venture Partners, L.P. In that capacity, Mr. Waye was primarily responsible for originating and structuring the fund's Micro Cap, operating company investments. Before joining ComVest, Mr. Waye was with AIG Capital Partners, a $10+ billion private equity group, responsible for fundraising and fund development. In addition, Mr. Waye previously led Motorola's and Unisys' New York based Financial Services sales and marketing efforts. He holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Management Information Systems and Marketing from Syracuse University.

 

Maydan Rothblum - Managing Director
Prior to co-founding Sigma in 2004, Mr. Rothblum held positions at Apax Partners, Booz, Allen & Hamilton and an equity research firm where he gained experience in private equity investing, equity research and business consulting, both nationally and internationally. Mr. Rothblum had earlier experience in managing business development and fund raising engagements for Israeli high-tech companies. In addition, he served as an engineer in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) where he focused on designing and implementing large logistics, ERP and inventory management projects. Mr. Rothblum holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

 

David Vynerib - Managing Partner

Prior to joining Sigma, Mr. Vynerib spent 13 years focused on fundraising efforts at CIBC Oppenheimer and Axiom Capital working with investment banking clients and the firms' Institutional Sales and Private Client Groups.  Mr. Vynerib was also responsible for deal sourcing, capital raising activities and asset management.  Additionally, David is a Principal of Morning Gate Capital Partners, an asset management business focused on the real estate market, and was one of the founders of Citi Habitats, one of the largest rental real estate firms in Manhattan. Mr. Vynerib heads Sigma RE. Mr. Vynerib is CIMA-certified and holds a BS in Finance from The George Washington University.

 

Steven Park – Managing Director

Prior to co-founding Sigma Advisory Services, Mr. Park was an investment banker with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bear Stearns, and J.P. Morgan Chase. Since 1999, Mr. Park has provided strategic advisory and capital raising services to his investment banking clients. Mr. Park has a strong track record of advising clients on strategic initiatives, mergers & acquisitions, capital raising and business development. Mr. Park has expertise in a variety of industries including technology, real estate, gaming, food & beverage, and consumer products. Mr. Park holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS from the United States Military Academy. Mr. Park served in the United States Army as a military intelligence officer.

 

Patrick Moon - Analyst
Prior to Sigma, Mr. Moon was an investment analyst at a NY based hedge fund. In this role, he focused on debt financings in public and private companies.  In addition, he was involved in commercial and hospitality real estate transactions.  Patrick has a BA in Economics with a Finance concentration from Bucknell University.

 

Chris Slover – Analyst
Prior to Sigma, Mr. Slover was a summer analyst at a NY based hedge fund. In this role, he focused on fundamental analysis of potential distressed investment opportunities. Chris has a BS in Management & Business with an Accounting concentration from Skidmore College.

Gary Marks - CFO
Mr. Marks is a Partner at Rubenstein Shenker Zacarese & Marks LLP, a Ne
w York-based certified public accounting firm. He has been a certified public accountant for 25 years and a Partner at various CPA firms for the past 12 years. Prior to public practice, Mr. Marks held management positions with "The Body Shop" retail chain and served as CFO of "The Female Athlete", a web-based retail forum. Mr. Marks specializes in individual taxation and small business accounting. He is the treasurer of the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce and past treasurer of the Garden City Jewish Center. Mr. Marks holds a BS in accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs.

Emilia Skupiewska - Financial Controller
Prior to her work at Sigma, Emilia was an accountant at MG Financial, a foreign exchange trading company in New York City. Prior to that, she was integral in building effective, strong customer and vendor relations for Tudor Realty Services, where she worked as their accounts payable liaison for several years. Ms. Skupiewska currently holds a Masters Degree in Accounting from Queens College/CUNY and a Masters Degree in Chemistry/Biotechnology from The Technical University of Gdansk, Poland.

Diana Mae Fernandez - Executive Assistant
Prior to joining Sigma, Diana was an Office Administrator with a start-up hedge fund which specialized in providing liquidity for creditors in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy. In this role, she assisted in all operations, administration and general office support. Diana holds a BS in Finance & Economics from the Silberman School of Business in Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU). In addition, she remains an active Graduate Advisor for FDU's Business Leaders of Tomorrow Program designed for students.
